Take a walk through history when you visit the Old Jail Museum in Jim Thorpe. This authentic piece of NEPA history allows visitors to witness, firsthand, what it was like for those who ran afoul of the law in Carbon County. Guests can visit the actual cells and gallows where the infamous Molly Maguires were hanged. And for those into old ghost stories and folklore, there’s Cell 17, where you’ll find the mysterious hand print on the wall.

Ghost Tours

The Old Jail Museum is open from May through October. Be sure to visit during the Halloween season for their famous ghost tours. The tours run only on certain Saturdays during the month. And don’t forget your camera because this place is crawling with paranormal activity.
