Diamond City Partnership (DCP) is a nonprofit organization leading revitalization efforts to enhance downtown Wilkes-Barre as a thriving destination to live, work & visit. As a collaborative alliance of property owners, residents, local businesses, educators, and city officials, DCP is committed to transforming the city center into a dynamic, economically vibrant hub while honoring its historic character and cultural identity.
Strengthening the Urban Core Through Strategic Investment
DCP’s mission is rooted in the Pennsylvania Main Street Program model, focusing on long-term economic growth, community engagement and public-private partnerships. Their efforts support small businesses, promote arts and culture, and spotlight Wilkes-Barre’s many assets—from green spaces and walkable streets to colleges, galleries and historic landmarks. DCP encourages residents and visitors alike to explore the city’s unique offerings and support local enterprises.
Managing Services That Support Business & Community
In addition to its revitalization projects, Diamond City Partnership manages the Downtown Wilkes-Barre Business Improvement District (BID), which delivers enhanced maintenance, marketing and business support services for district stakeholders. Funded through grants, sponsorships, local nonprofit contributions and BID revenue, DCP is uniquely positioned to sustain momentum through coordinated investment and strategic programming. Its work not only improves the physical environment but also nurtures a vibrant sense of place for everyone who spends time downtown.
