Puck Cancer | Hockey, hope & healing in Nanticoke
Puck Cancer is a nonprofit organization in Nanticoke, PA dedicated to helping cancer patients focus on healing instead of financial hardship. Founded by Shawn Myers in memory of his mother, Michelle Alberola Myers, who passed away in 2011, the organization has since donated over $70,000 to support local patients battling cancer.
Funding Vital Patient Support
Puck Cancer raises funds for the Medical Oncology Associates Prescription Assistance Fund, which helps cover critical expenses like medications, transportation, medical equipment, insurance premiums, and home health care. This support gives patients access to treatments and essentials that might otherwise be out of reach during their illness.
Community Events With a Cause
Puck Cancer hosts exciting events throughout the year to rally community support. The annual Summer Festival is a major highlight, featuring a hockey tournament, food vendors, live music, kids’ games, and raffles. During hockey season, they also host arena takeover nights with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and fundraise through their online store.
Puck Cancer continues to make a meaningful impact for cancer patients in Northeastern PA through fundraising, community connection, and compassion.
