Anthracite Labor History takes place at the Pennsylvania Anthracite Heritage Museum in Scranton on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 6:30 PM, featuring talks on labor activism and conflict in Northeastern Pennsylvania’s anthracite region.
Presented as part of Anthracite Mining Heritage Month, the program brings together scholars and independent researchers to explore topics including Msgr. John J. Curran’s labor advocacy, the Industrial Workers of the World in the coal fields, labor rebellion during the 1930s, and the history behind dynamite bombings in the region.
