Choral Society of NEPA: The Poet Sings will be presented at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Scranton on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at 3:00 PM. This spring “pocket concert” features choral works by primarily living composers, paired with texts by some of the world’s most celebrated poets.
The program includes music by composers such as Eric Whitacre, Rosephanye Powell, and Morten Lauridsen, set to poetry by Robert Frost, Alfred, Lord Tennyson, Walt Whitman, and others. The concert highlights the connection between language and melody, bringing classic words to life through contemporary choral writing.
Admission is free, and a reception will follow the performance.
