Intro to Pottery Class for Adults | Peaceful Potter, Wilkes-Barre

Thursdays, January 8, 15, 22 & 29, 2026 | 6:00–8:00 PM

Intro to Pottery Class for Adults at Peaceful Potter in Wilkes-Barre meets on Thursdays, January 8, 15, 22 and 29, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, introducing adults to the fundamentals of working with clay on and off the wheel. This four-session series is ideal for beginners who want a guided start in pottery.

In the first class, students learn the basics of handbuilding, creating simple forms using foundational techniques. The next three sessions focus on the pottery wheel, where participants practice centering clay, pulling walls, and shaping basic vessels under the guidance of the instructor.

Two weeks after the final class, students return on a weekend at their leisure to glaze their fired pieces. All finished items made in the class will be microwave and dishwasher safe, making the projects both functional and attractive for everyday use.

The class requires each student to have or purchase a pottery tool kit, which should include basic throwing tools, a one-gallon bucket, a towel, and a car wash sponge for cleanup.
