George P. Maffei II Theatre | Student-led performances & public shows in Wilkes-Barre

The George P. Maffei II Theatre at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre opens its doors to the public for a full season of student-driven productions. This vibrant performing arts center presents four shows each year, showcasing the talent, creativity, and dedication of the college’s theater students. From musicals to dramas, the George P. Maffei II Theatre at King’s College adds to Wilkes-Barre’s rich cultural scene with performances that engage, challenge, and entertain.

The season traditionally begins with a fall musical and ends with a spring Shakespeare production, offering a mix of classic literature and theatrical spectacle. The other two productions rotate and may include timeless plays, new dramas, or laugh-out-loud comedies. Recent titles have included The Who’s Tommy, Godspell, Moon Over Buffalo, Other Desert Cities, The Secret in the Wings, and Doubt—a lineup that reflects both range and quality.

All shows are performed in the on-campus George P. Maffei II Theatre, where audience members can enjoy intimate seating and professional-level staging. Performances are open to the public, offering community members a chance to support the arts and see rising local talent on stage.
