J.B. Park Farm Museum | Agricultural history exhibit in Honesdale

J.B. Park Farm Museum in Honesdale, PA highlights Wayne County’s agricultural heritage through immersive exhibits at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. Established in its current form in 1994 after the original structure collapsed, the museum features the permanent display, A Day in the Life of a Farm: Wayne County Agriculture: 1870–1930. Completed in 1996, the exhibit explores rural life during a period when farming shaped the county’s economy and identity. The museum is named for Joseph B. Park, a former president of the Wayne County Historical Society and longtime vocational agricultural supervisor for Wayne and Pike Counties.

The exhibit recreates aspects of daily farm life between 1870 and 1930. Visitors can explore hands-on areas designed to engage younger guests while offering familiar scenes for older generations. Displays reflect the close connection between county fairs and agriculture, making its location at the fairgrounds especially fitting. The museum remains dedicated to preserving the tools, traditions and stories that defined Wayne County farming communities.

The building is open during the annual Wayne County Fair and by appointment throughout the year.
