Rough It in The Wilderness or Kick Back at a Glamping Resort

When it comes to relaxation, nothing beats a weekend in the woods. Summer days were made for exploring the trails and searching for the perfect fishing hole. Lazy afternoons by the lake fade into nights under the stars, trading stories over s’mores and listening to the chirp of crickets. No agendas, no worries—the only responsibility is tossing another log onto the campfire.

The beauty of camping is that there are so many ways to experience the outdoors. Here in NEPA, our campgrounds offer something for every type of camper, from first-timers to outdoor enthusiasts. If you’re simply looking for some R&R, then a family campground or an RV park is a convenient, affordable way to spend summer vacation. Or maybe all you need is a cozy sleeping bag and few marshmallows to make you a happy camper. Then you’ll find the perfect place to pitch your tent at NEPA’s rustic parks. And for a little bit of luxury, book a stay at a high-end glamping site, a deluxe cabin rental or a fun-filled camping resort.

Plan your NEPA staycation this summer. Remember that some campgrounds fill up quickly, so you’ll want to book your site early. Please reach out directly to the campgrounds to check availability.

Make it a summer the kids will never forget.

Family camping trips are all about good, old-fashioned fun, like doing cannonballs in the lake and playing endless rounds of capture the flag. Seriously, no one can complain that they’re bored when there are trails to explore, hot dogs to roast and fireflies to capture.

Hit the road with your home-away-from-home.

Trailers and motorhomes make it so easy to pick up and go. No need to worry about pitching a tent or getting caught in the rain. RVs have all the comforts of home, but take a step outside, and you’re fully immersed in nature.

Spend the night in some of NEPA’s most scenic places.

Pitching a tent and sleeping under the stars is one of the best ways to reconnect with nature. Campgrounds at NEPA’s state parks will put you in the heart of the mountains, with hiking trails, pristine lakes and prime fishing spots just steps from your campsite. And if rustic tent camping isn’t for you, some locations offer RV sites, cabin rentals and even yurts.

Outdoor adventures meet the comfort of a hotel.

Glamping (that’s short for “glamorous camping”) combines the stunning scenery of the outdoors with some luxury amenities you’d expect from a resort. A typical glamping site usually has a spacious tent complete with spacious beds, lighting, furniture and more. Even if you’re not the camping “type,” you’ve got to admit it’s pretty cool. These local resorts offer glampsites that are perfect for a couples retreat or a bucket list trip.
