The Cork Bar and Restaurant in Wilkes-Barre labels itself as a place “where customers become friends.” In business since 2007, it offers dining, cocktails, and a premium wine list inside a welcoming, cosmopolitan atmosphere.
The Cork has multiple floors for dining, each with a slightly different feel. The first floor is great for a more casual but still classy dining experience featuring a laid-back bar with several TVs. In the summer, diners may request seating outside on the small, dog-friendly patio. The second-floor dining room offers a more intimate setting with a quiet, window lined porch. There is also plenty of space for larger groups and parties.
Special events and fundraisers are held regularly, as are pre-theater dining deals associated with the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts and wine classes.
Menu Highlights
Cork has an extensive selection of wine to pair with their dinner menu of salads, soups, seafood, beef, pork, and chicken. Many of the items change weekly or even daily, so be sure to ask your server about featured specials, such as the ravioli of the week. As an appetizer, Nana’s Meatballs are a popular option as a predecessor to meals like the Clams Fra Diavolo or the Pulled Short Rib Pappardelle.
Gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available.
