Dive into Wilkes-Barre’s rich history at the Luzerne County Historical Society Museum.

This organization displays a variety of exhibitions that highlight Luzerne County’s history through photographs, artifacts, and artwork.

The Luzerne County Historical Society Museum is also a hot spot for history buffs since the exhibits change every few months. There’s always something new to see! Past exhibits have featured local history topics such as coal mining, Native American heritage, and Hurricane Agnes. You can pick up historical works by local authors at the museum’s gift shop.

The museum is conveniently located in downtown Wilkes-Barre, behind the Osterhout Free Library. Museum admission is free for members of the Luzerne County Historical Society.  Parking is available at meters along South Franklin Street or at local parking garages.
