A staple in the Wilkes-Barre caffeine scene.

Drew Long, Co-Owner of Pour Coffee House, purchased Pour in November of 2019 (just before COVID!) alongside his wife, Stacy. Although he says that COVID set them back, they learned quickly what works well and what does not. They also learned how to manage costs while still producing a great product. This set them up for future success with the opening of Drip Coffee Company in Pittston in Feb 2023.

Drew says that he and Stacy have always wanted to be coffee shop owners, and Drew worked in coffee shops all through high school and college. Drew says they “try to be a small business version of Starbucks” – making coffee, lattes, teas, refreshers, and a variety of local pastries and other goods.

Additionally, Drew says: “We try to have a few very unique options that you can’t get anywhere else – have you tried our Peanut Butter Latte? Or our Prickly Pear refresher?”

Homegrown Entrepreneurs

Drew says that NEPA is where he and Stacy were born and raised and that they believe in this community and that it deserves more quality coffee shop options. They try to be involved in as many events in the downtown market as possible, whether it be directly with events such as Kirby Fest, or, indirectly, by serving customers who come in for the weekly Farmer’s Market, they strive to bring another coffee option to the Wilkes-Barre community. They also display art from local artists and maintain a forum board where customers post any local activities. Additionally, they love supporting many fundraising groups throughout the year.

“We very much appreciate the support from our customers in the Wilkes-Barre area. Looking forward to many more years of serving them!” says Drew.

Most recently, Pour chipped in to do a few benefits for Abide (a local coffee shop a few blocks away from Pour’s Wilkes-Barre location) by donating a portion of their proceeds and hosting an art event while they are recovering from a building issue that has forced them to temporarily shut down. “Trying to support one another and showing the community that we are here to serve them and not to serve the bottom line,” says Drew, in response to the motivation behind this gesture.
