Handbuilding Class for Adults at Peaceful Potter in Wilkes-Barre meets on Tuesdays, January 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, giving adults the chance to explore pinch, coil and slab-built pottery techniques. This four-session series is designed for beginners and returning students who want to build confidence working with clay in a relaxed, supportive studio setting.
Each week, students will create new handbuilt projects using different methods, so no two classes are exactly alike. From functional pieces to decorative forms, participants will learn how to shape, join and refine their work while experimenting with texture and form.
After the four building sessions are complete, students will return during the second weekend of the following month to glaze their finished pieces at their leisure. This additional visit allows time to add color and surface design before the final firing.
