Symmetry Dance Company | Movement & Expression in Scranton

Symmetry Dance Company in Scranton has been inspiring dancers of all ages since 2011. Located in a spacious studio inside The Marketplace at Steamtown, the dance studio offers a wide variety of classes for children, teens, and adults. From ballet and tap to jazz, hip hop, contemporary, acro, and modern, students can explore many different styles while building strong technical foundations.

Programs at Symmetry are designed for every level, from recreational dancers who simply love to move to dedicated performers who want to train seriously. Young dancers can start as early as 1.5 years old, and adults will also find opportunities to continue their artistic journey. The studio even features an adult performance company and open class options for those who want to perform or train in a supportive and professional setting.

Symmetry is led by Founder and Artistic Director Abby Slater and Director of Administration & Children’s Program, Blythe Alexander. Together with a talented team of instructors, they create an environment that nurtures growth, creativity, and community. The studio is known for its balance of rigorous training and encouragement, helping dancers reach their personal and artistic goals.

Children’s programs at Symmetry focus on building confidence and creativity through movement. Instruction covers ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, musical theater, modern, contemporary, acro, and pointe. With showcases and performance opportunities held throughout the year, students gain valuable stage experience while sharing their love of dance with family, friends, and the community.
