Mission Statement
The mission of the corporation shall be to create and foster local job growth by aiding entrepreneurs, newly formed start-up companies and mature companies in identifying and capitalizing on new ideas and opportunities, services for low income persons, support community development and build a sustainable local economy by financing environmental responsibility.
Rural Business Innovation Corporation (RBI) is a nonprofit organization that provides support services to entrepreneurs, start-ups and early-stage companies. They are based in Bloomsburg and serve Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania. Counties in their coverage area include Columbia, Luzerne, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Schuylkill, Snyder, Sullivan and Union.
Since 1993, RBI has helped the local economy grow and assisted entrepreneurs as they develop their ideas into successful businesses. Their main programs include a microloan program, Local Enterprise Assistance Program (LEAP), business consulting and business education workshops.
