Fall Shopping Party Leads into Popular Deck the Downtown Events
As we prepare to bid farewell to a beautiful fall and usher in the holiday season, Scranton Tomorrow’s Business Development Committee is partnering with Northern Light Espresso Bar & Café to present a new event in the downtown business district: a Fall Shopping Party!
On Saturday, November 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., businesses in the 300 through 600 blocks of Biden Street and the 200 block of Adams Avenue will offer sales, themed menu items, refreshments and more. Participating businesses include Amendolaro and the Live Studio@ Amendolaro, the Blushing Bridal Boutique, Burlap & Bourbon, Downtown Deli & Eatery, DRIPbaR Scranton, Lavish Scranton, Northern Light Espresso Bar & Café, Tequila Bar & Grill, Tom Grudis Optical & The Bare Accessories, and Vecina Designs.
Support Local!
“There’s great energy in Downtown Scranton right now as our small businesses prepare for the holidays,” said Liz Baldi, Business Development Director, Scranton Tomorrow. “The Fall Shopping Party is another way we’re encouraging everyone in the community to support local as we close our Fall into Downtown campaign and kick off our Deck the Downtown holiday event series and campaign.”
Jennifer Saunders, who owns two downtown businesses – Northern Light Espresso Bar and Café on Biden Street and Little Wild Refillery on N. Washington Avenue – said Downtown Scranton is thriving. “We have so many awesome small businesses, from retail stores to restaurants and specialty shops. When we all come together to create an event like the block parties we’ve been seeing and our Fall Shopping Party on November 2, it brings us together as a community.”
Special events generate interest in what local businesses have to offer. They create opportunities to attract new customers and build stronger relationships with existing customers. This all translates into revenue and support for the local economy. That’s why Saunders always says “yes” when she’s asked to participate in community events or spearhead a project. “It gives us the visibility that we need to continue to be successful,” she said.
