Reliable Auto Repair – Wyoming, PA
Building a better customer experience.
Reliable Auto Repair started 10 years ago when owner Dan Riley made the decision to go out on his own. Dan wanted to provide a high level of customer service, and have automotive repairs made with integrity and with the customer’s best interest in mind.
“I didn’t like how my employer at the time was pushing sales over customer automotive needs. So, I wanted to change that business practice. I did that by paying employees a competitive hourly wage without commission. That way, the technicians were not selling repairs because they wanted to make a commission. Then, by spending the time to diagnose the problem right the 1st time, we are able to save our customers from paying for repairs that they didn’t need,” says Dan.
Reliable Auto Repair evolved over the years. According to Dan, they are doing a lot more replacement of transmissions and engines than trying to repair or rebuild them. They are doing a lot more preventive maintenance, trying to prevent those costly repairs for their customers.
“In our business, the longer you let something go the more expensive it gets because more parts get damaged. Getting those pesky check engine lights off has become an everyday goal. We provide just about any type of automotive repair. From oil and lube service, tire replacement, brake replacement, and State Inspections to engine and transmission replacement,” says Dan.
“What makes me unique is my dedication to helping my customers and building relationships with them. It enables me to help them with their automotive needs by getting to know them, how much they drive, what they use their vehicle for, and whether they are long-time owners, or they get new cars every few years. That way, we come up with the best plan to keep the vehicle maintained and safe for them and the rest of the people on the roads,” says Dan.
Supporting the Community
At Home in NEPA.
For Dan, NEPA is home. “I choose NEPA for my location because I have made NEPA my home and this is where my family is. For me, family is everything and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. I love the people and how kind and caring most people in this area are,” he says.”
“My son Jack was in the CHOP and was very ill and we were not sure he was going to make it. There were so many customers who are like family to me, and that supported my business and my family when my wife and I could barely breathe. We were fighting to keep a 4-month-old little boy alive and I couldn’t always be at my facility to keep things going, but my employees stepped up and my customers kept coming and kept praying for us. Thank God it all worked out and he is a healthy and happy 6-year-old little boy,” Dan shared.
To give back to the community that has supported him, Dan is the Vice President of Sleep In Heavenly Peace, a nonprofit that provides kids with beds who are sleeping on the floor.
“Helping kids is very important to me and I have been doing SHP since 2018. I have helped over 200 kids get a good night’s sleep by providing a bed for them,” says Dan.
Dan also coaches baseball for Pittston Township Little League Association and Fundamental Basketball for kids K-2nd grade for Holy Rosary School.
