Salonick Photo Artistry – Wilkes-Barre, PA
A lifelong pursuit.
Curtis Salonick is a self-taught photographer who learned his craft through years of experience, starting at age 16, when he received his first 35 mm. camera. He became interested in photography while searching for an artistic outlet as a young adult, and his first photography subjects focused on the outdoors and wildlife.
He began his professional career in 1972 as a freelance photographer covering the Agnes Flood that occurred that year. As his work became recognized, he developed a client base and eventually started his own photo business, Salonick’s Photo Artistry. Last year, 2022 marked Curt’s 50th year in business with Salonick’s Photo Artistry!
“While experiencing the commercial side of photography I did not lose sight of my artistic endeavor and have continued it into today,” says Curt. “My photography represents a life pursuit.”
According to Curt, event photography represents his current primary work, and he is involved in the community through his interaction in photographing local events. You can regularly find him photographing Chamber community events at their spring awards event!
When asked what is most unique about his business, Curt responded, “I would not describe what I do as unique, but my approach, commitment, and understanding of photography allows me to supply the client with a quality service.”
