Mine Rescue Day at the Anthracite Heritage Museum in Scranton takes place on Saturday, April 11 from 11 AM to 3 PM. This interactive event invites families to explore how anthracite miners responded to emergencies underground.

Guests can take part in hands on activities that highlight the history of mine rescue and early industrial first aid. The event features a Touch a Truck experience with the Scranton and Taylor Fire Departments, along with educational stations led by medical professionals, scientists and veterans.

Kids can complete a special activity passport and earn a Junior Mine Rescuer Certificate. This family friendly program offers an engaging way to learn about local history and the role of rescue teams in the Coal Region.

Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, $5 for youth and free for children ages 2 and under.
