What’s that slimy stuff floating in that puddle? Vernal pools are an exciting feature of spring that offer excellent habitat for young amphibians, often full of frog and salamander eggs. You will explore the edge of Eagle Trail, searching for evidence of amphibian activity. Along the way, you’ll learn more about vernal pools and how the park’s historic land use helped create amphibian habitat. You’ll stick to the edges of the water, but please wear shoes and clothes that you are okay getting muddy or wet. Meet by Riverside Barn and we will caravan to the trailhead together.
