Driving down US 40, and fusing 60s garage rock, 70s NY rhythms, 80s LA energy, and 90s post-punk hooks, The Downstrokes play four-on-the-floor rock n roll. On their debut album, New York Girl, they explored their influences from the Kinks and the Patti Smith Group to the Adolescents and the Pixies. On their 2019 E.P from Snubbed Records, they dared listeners to Fall in Love with Punk Rock Again. Post Covid saw the band return unsafe at Any Speed, which was named one of The Big Takeover Magazine’s 50 best records of 2021. Their latest record, This Close to Vertigo, is ten songs of rip-roaring out of the garage rock n roll.
