The Wyoming Valley Run: NEPA’s Flattest and Fastest Inclusive Road Race
On Sunday, August 31, The Wyoming Valley Run, presented by Allied Services, returns to Luzerne County. The popular, Labor Day weekend race from Downtown Pittston to Downtown Wilkes-Barre expects to welcome up to 2,000 runners, walkers and hand cyclists to the scenic Wyoming Valley.
The race follows a relatively flat, 10-mile course which starts on S. Main St. in Pittston. After crossing the Fort Jenkins Bridge, runners make their way down Wyoming Avenue passing through West Pittston, Exeter, Wyoming, Forty Fort and Kingston. It then culminates with a dramatic stretch to the finish line over the Susquehanna River via the historic Market St. Bridge and onto Wilkes-Barre’s Public Square. Runners will find aid stations at 2.5 miles, 4 miles, 5.5 miles, 7 miles and 8.5 miles.

Join NEPA’s most inclusive and supportive racing community
Prospective racers are welcome to register as individuals, teams (of at least 3 racers), walkers, hand cyclists and elite athletes (complimentary with approved documentation). You can even register for a virtual run/walk. The race will be divided into 13 age groups starting with 14 & under and ending with 70 & over. Be sure to stay after the race for an awards ceremony where $10,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to top finishers in a variety of categories. And, of course, you won’t want to miss the post-race party.
