Borrow a bike and explore the city… all for free!

Lackawanna Heritage Valley BikeShare is a free bike sharing program run by Lackawanna Heritage Valley. Pick up a bike, lock and helmet from their location at Hotel Anthracite in Carbondale. You can use the bike and equipment all day. Hop on the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail at the scenic Carbondale Riverwalk, a 3.5-mile loop that takes riders to the neighboring town of Simpson and connects with the D&H Rail-Trail to the north.

To participate, you must be 16 or older and have a valid driver’s license or state photo ID. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

Other BikeShare locations include Weinberg Memorial Library, Lackawanna Heritage Valley Headquarters, Electric City Roasting Company and Greater Carbondale YMCA. Bikes must be borrowed from and returned to the same location. Please check individual locations for operating hours.
