In summer, Lake Carey becomes a hub of outdoor fun. Visitors enjoy swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, jet skiing, and leisurely boating. Docks around the lake make it easy to take a dip or catch some sun. Many also launch canoes in the evening to enjoy stunning Endless Mountains sunsets from the water.

When the weather turns cold, the lake remains a destination. Ice fishing, snowshoeing, and lakeside strolls become popular pastimes. Snow-covered hills and frozen water create a peaceful setting for winter getaways.

Fishing is popular all year. Anglers regularly catch bass, panfish, and other species. For easy lake access, Frank’s Marina on Marina Drive offers a public boat launch and parking for a small fee.

Lake Carey is lined with private homes and summer cottages. While the shoreline is mostly residential, the local lake community is welcoming. Dozens of vacation rentals are available nearby, from rustic cabins to large waterfront homes.

Each July, the community hosts Lake Carey Day. This local tradition includes kayak races, footraces, a poker run, music, raffles, bingo, and a chicken barbecue. It’s a summer favorite for both visitors and residents.
