Visitors to Prompton State Park in Wayne County have many options for recreational fun.
Visit Prompton State Park and relax and cast a line into the 290-acre Prompton Lake, where largemouth and smallmouth bass are the popular catch, venture out onto the nearly 26 miles of hiking trails that weave their way along the lake and through the forest, enjoy some lunch at the covered picnic pavilion, or challenge friends to a game of disc golf on the park’s popular 18-hole course.
Boating on the lake and hunting during specific seasons are permitted in the park, as well as mountain biking and cross-country skiing, but what is most notably the greatest attraction Prompton State Park has to offer is that, in winter, the various hills throughout the park are perfect for sledding.
The park is open year-round.
