A Charming State Park
The 3,520-acre Swatara State Park in Pine Grove is the perfect place to hike, boat, fish, or hunt. With picturesque views of the Swatara Creek and a quiet atmosphere, this park is the perfect place to spend a tranquil day.
Swatara State Park has something for everyone. For hikers, not only does the park have its own trails, but two miles of the Appalachian Trail pass through it. The crossing features a unique bridge that offers scenic views to travelers. Hunting is permitted in most of the park, and fish can be caught in the creek or in Irving’s Pond.
For those interested in historic buildings, there is also a log cabin built from on-site materials in 1939 and preserved inside the park. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem of a state park!
