Explore Forests, Meadows, & Valley Views

The Penobscot Ridge Mountain Bike Trail was created by Earth Conservancy, a local nonprofit that reclaims, restores, and redevelopers former mining land. This scenic trail gives new life to the land near Wanamie, right outside of Nanticoke.

The trail enters a 1,557-acre area that is now part of the Pinchot State Forest. The main path is moderate, with some areas that are steep and rocky. Once you reach the ridgeline, the trail is gentler and provides peaceful views of the woodlands and fields. The trail is suitable for both mountain biking and hiking.

The Penobscot Ridge Mountain Bike Trail has two trailheads. The western trailhead is located off of West Main Street. The Eastern Trailhead is located off of West Kirmar Avenue near Reservoir Creek. Both trailheads offer parking and picnic areas. The trail is 1.6 miles long between the trailheads.
