The Wilkes-Barre National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) #2306 is a nonprofit organization that works to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of minority group citizens. Known at the Diamond City Branch, they advocate for equality of rights and work to eliminate race prejudice among citizens.

The Wilkes-Barre NAACP has several different committees to address community needs. These include political action, housing, education, young adult groups, community coordination and legal redress.
