Endless Mountains Hot Air Balloons offers scenic balloon rides over NEPA’s farmland and forests. You’ll enjoy views up to 50 miles. The experience ends with a traditional champagne toast.
Falls, PA
This outfitter offers day trips and overnight camping on the Susquehanna River. They provide boat rentals, gear and shuttles. Beginners are welcome.
Forest City, PA
NEP Sno Trails is a nonprofit snowmobile club that’s been around since 1991. They maintain over 200 miles of trails in Wayne and Susquehanna counties. Register with the club to obtain trail access.
Tunkhannock, PA
Lake Carey is a peaceful 182-acre lake. It is a beautiful destination year-round. The lake is especially popular for boating and fishing.
Union Dale, PA
The D&H Rail-Trail is a 38-mile trail from Simpson to the New York border. DCNR named it Pennsylvania’s Trail of the Year in 2021. The trail passes several historic landmarks, like the Starrucca Viaduct.
Factoryville, PA
Little Rocky Glen Preserve features rapids, pools and waterfalls along the South Branch of Tunkhannock Creek. Hiking trails offer views of the gorge and forests. The preserve is owned by Countryside Conservancy and is open to the public from April through November.
Tunkhannock, PA
North Branch Land Trust’s Howland Preserve includes eight miles of hiking and biking trails. The preserve is located on the scenic Vosburg Neck and offers a nonmotorized boat launch on the Susquehanna River. This historic property is also home to a 1865 barn.
Sugar Run, PA
Endless Mountain Outfitters offers kayaks and canoes for rent and for sale. They’re open every summer for trips on the Susquehanna River. They provide options for all experience levels.
Montrose, PA
Salt Springs State Park encompasses over 14 miles of hiking trails. The Fall Brook area boasts rushing waterfalls and a rocky gorge. The park is also home to old-growth hemlocks that are over 300 years old.
Dimock, PA
Woodbourne Forest Preserve features four hiking trails and contains part of NEPA’s largest remaining old-growth forest. The wetlands provide excellent spots to view wildlife.
