Happy Hours & Live Music Are Back for 2022
Diamond City Partnership is bringing back Sunsets on South Main, a monthly happy hour and concert series in downtown Wilkes-Barre. The celebration kicks off on Thursday, May 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Midtown Village (41 South Main Street).
This free, outdoor event will feature live music from the local rock band Stealing Neil. Susquehanna Brewing Company and Boozy B’s will offer adult beverages for purchase. There will also pop-up vendors and a children’s craft corner.
This month’s event is happening in partnership with the Fine Arts Fiesta. Visitors can check out the art exhibits and vendors on Public Square, then stroll over to Midtown Village for live music and locally crafted drinks.
Sunsets on South Main (or SOMA, for short) is a great way to get explore all that downtown Wilkes-Barre has to offer.
“We invite our entire community to come to the heart of downtown for this free concert and happy hour series and then stay to enjoy dinner at one of our many unique downtown restaurants,” said Susan Magnotta, Director of Marketing and Development at Diamond City Partnership. “Sunsets on SOMA is part of our larger ‘Downtown Rebound’ initiative aimed at bringing life, vitality and vibrancy back to our center city and to support our restaurant and small retail business owners.”
Sunsets on SOMA will be outdoors at Midtown Village every third Thursday through September. New for this year, the series will continue into the fall with indoor events at the Circle Centre for the Arts on October 20 and November 18.
