Announcing our Keynote Speaker for LEAD 2024!
Legislative Education and Advocacy Day (LEAD) is an exciting event that gives attendees an opportunity to learn about advocacy on the local and state levels.
Presented in partnership with our regional Chambers, LEAD is designed to further attendees’ knowledge of the legislative process, grassroots advocacy, and major current statewide and national policy initiatives. This year’s event will be held on Friday, September 13th, 2024.
This event provides attendees with tools and resources to build their advocacy toolbelt and meet their legislators/representatives to discuss topics that are important to them and the communities they serve. Attendees hear from an array of passionate speakers from elected officials, the government sector, community organizers, and advocates.
This year’s keynote speaker is Mike Carroll, Pennsylvania Secretary of Transportation.
Mike Carroll was first elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2006 and subsequently re-elected for seven additional terms, and he worked on transportation throughout his time in public office.
Mike formerly worked as the chief of staff for then-state Rep. John Yudichak, served as legislative liaison for PennDOT under Gov. Robert Casey and served as district office director for Congressman Paul Kanjorski. A graduate of Pittston Area High School, Mike earned a bachelor of arts in liberal studies from the University of Scranton. A lifelong resident of Avoca, he is a member of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in Pittston, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Avoca Division. Mike is father of three adult children, Matt, Mackenzie, and Ali.

Join us for the Next Chamber Lunch Mob!
Lunch. Connect. Network.
The Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Council spearheads this networking series to allow participants to experience the many fantastic offerings of our area while connecting with members of our business community. Each month a new restaurant will be featured!
The event is FREE to attend. Guests will pay for lunch on their own. However, registration is required for us to communicate with the restaurant owner on how many people to expect. Some events may have limited seats available.
To respect the time and effort of the restaurant staff, we ask that all attendees honor their registrations. Should you need to miss the event, a 24-hour notification must be given, it allows for the seat to be filled and for us to alert the restaurant of headcount changes.
Our next event is happening on August 20th from 12-1:30 PM. Find out more and register here!
