When families and thrill seekers want to ski, ride, and tube, they head to the Shawnee Mountain Ski Area, in East Stroudsburg. With 23 slopes and trails, two terrain parks, and a snow tubing park, this Pocono Mountains destination is a great place to shred the slopes from December through March. With its lifts open 10, 11, or 12 hours a day, many moms and dads take advantage of the babysitting services that are offered through Camp Shawnee.

Its ski shop literally has you covered, offering the newest jackets, pants, layering pieces, hats, gloves, helmets, goggles, and handwarmers. Equipment like Salomon skis and bindings, ski poles, and ski boots by Dalbello can also be purchased. Those who elect to bring their own equipment can have it serviced in the Tune & Repair Shop.

Between runs, grab a bite to eat at one of five dining options: Hickory Licks Restaurant, Black Diamond Grille, Hope Lodge Cafeteria, Greenhouse Snack Bar, and Trepp Lodge Cafeteria. Gluten-free options are available.
