A Tranquil Trail With a River View
Join us for a peaceful ride along the Susquehanna River.
The Susquehanna Warrior Trail is located right in the center of Luzerne County, extending from West Nanticoke to the beautiful Susquehanna Riverlands. Whether it’s hiking, jogging, walking or biking, this trail offers a little something for everyone. The trail features 12.5 miles of soft gravel and dirt, expansive river views, playgrounds and communal areas.
The Warrior Trail’s proximity to the river offers many opportunities for viewing wildlife. Birdwatchers enjoy spotting eagles, majestic herons, and the pesky red-winged blackbird. It’s also common to see muskrats, beavers, water snakes, turtles and many more critters.
The Warrior Trail also features multiple community areas with playgrounds and wide-open fields. These convenient spots make for easy picnicking, or a place to rest during a long hike.
In addition to the great walking and biking trail, the Susquehanna Warrior Trail Council hosts occasional events, including a 5K Race and Fun Walk. While the trail has no paid staff, the Council works together with community organizations and volunteers to maintain this local gem.
