Friends of Tuscarora and Locust Lake State Parks | Nonprofit supporting education & conservation in Schuylkill County
The Friends of Tuscarora and Locust Lake State Parks is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization formed in April 2021 to support the conservation, education & recreational programming at two of Schuylkill County’s most treasured outdoor destinations. Serving as dedicated stewards of both Tuscarora and Locust Lake State Parks, the group enhances the experience for visitors while protecting the parks’ natural and cultural resources for future generations.
Volunteers Committed to Stewardship & Education
This community-driven organization offers park volunteers new ways to contribute—whether through trail maintenance, habitat preservation or educational programming. The group helps uphold the parks’ value not only as natural retreats but also as hubs for learning, wellness & outdoor recreation. Their efforts aim to maintain the balance between public enjoyment and environmental preservation.
Fundraising to Fuel the Mission
Through fundraising events, sponsorships and donations, the Friends of Tuscarora and Locust Lake State Parks provide critical support for programs that the parks could not offer on their own. These funds help host educational events, improve park infrastructure and expand opportunities for community engagement. The organization welcomes new members, volunteers and donors who share a passion for outdoor spaces and public service.
Friends of Tuscarora and Locust Lake State Parks protects, enhances & promotes two beloved state parks through volunteerism, education & community support.
