NEPA Pride Coalition is a nonprofit organization based in Northeastern Pennsylvania working to uplift and support LGBTQIA+ individuals and families through advocacy, education & community engagement. Founded in 2022, the coalition is grounded in values of integrity, diversity, empathy, respect, and social justice. Its mission centers on building a more inclusive and affirming region where LGBTQIA+ people can access the care, support & opportunities they deserve.
Creating Safer, More Affirming Systems
One of NEPA Pride Coalition’s core initiatives is to educate and train professionals across key sectors to reduce systemic barriers and disparities. Their programming focuses on improving services in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment, while also equipping HR professionals, business leaders, educators, and first responders with tools to better serve LGBTQIA+ individuals. By building awareness and cultural competency, the coalition helps ensure that community support systems are inclusive, respectful & welcoming.
Community-Driven Change for Lasting Impact
Beyond training, the organization fosters long-term change through strategic partnerships, public education, and grassroots engagement. They work to expand access to affirming care and resources, strengthen LGBTQIA+ representation in community decision-making, and promote a culture of belonging across the region. Whether through advocacy or training, their efforts lay the foundation for a stronger, more inclusive NEPA.
