Join us for the next Public Policy Power Hour with Rich Roman, District Executive for PennDOT’s Engineering District 4!

Join the Government Affairs Council and our regional Chamber partners for a “Public Policy Power Hour” at the THINK Center on Monday, November 18th, at 10:00 AM. Delve into the latest developments in public policy and engage in insightful discussions alongside fellow members and the Government Affairs Committee. This event offers a unique opportunity to stay informed, share perspectives, and network with professionals passionate about shaping policy.

Admission is free and open to all members and members of the Government Affairs Committee. As you immerse yourself in the discussions, enjoy complimentary coffee and refreshments provided.

Joining us on November 18th is Rich Roman, District Executive for PennDOT’s Engineering District 4 as our session speaker.

About Rich Roman:

Rich has served as the District Executive for PennDOT’s Engineering District 4 since January 2019.  As District Executive, Rich has oversight of a 6-County area in northeast PA and is involved in the Design, Construction, Maintenance and Operations of 4,000 miles of roads and 2,100 bridges, with an annual budget of over $450 million.

Prior to coming to District 4, Rich was PennDOT’s Director of the Bureau of Maintenance and Operations for 5 years.  The primary goal of the Bureau is to serve, support, and lead the 11 District Maintenance Offices and 67 County Maintenance Organizations across the Commonwealth.

Prior to joining the Bureau, Rich worked in Engineering District 8-Harrisburg for 16 years.  He served as the ADE for Maintenance for 5 years, Design Services Engineer for 5 years, and various civil engineering capacities starting in 1998. Rich began his career with PennDOT in June 1997 with Engineering District 4.

Rich is a graduate of Penn State, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Environmental Engineering; along with a Master of Public Administration Degree.  Rich is a licensed professional engineer in PA since 2002.  Rich is a native of Hazleton.

Save the date for the annual Young Professionals Ugly Sweater Party, happening on Wednesday, December 4th at Wilkes-Barre’s THINK Center. This holiday party is an opportunity for attendees to network and support a great cause: valley Santa! There will be good, fun, a raffle, and, of course, and ugly sweater contest!

Event Spotlight: Connect Spotlight Event on November 21st!

Save the date for our next Spotlight program “Advanced Technology in NEPA”!

The Spotlight program features quarterly events that provide an opportunity for industry leaders and entrepreneurs in NEPA to meet, discuss and identify potential partnerships. Each event features presentations from entrepreneurs, innovators, non-profits, and students with ties to Northeastern Pennsylvania. Spotlight is a Connect program sponsored by Penn State Wilkes-Barre, through the Invent Penn State initiative. This quarter’s event is being held in conjunction with Penn State Global Entrepreneurship Week.
