Stay Competitive with On-the-Job Training

In today’s competitive job market, businesses are constantly seeking innovative ways to attract and retain top talent while keeping costs manageable. This challenge is particularly difficult for small and medium-sized companies aiming to compete with larger corporations. Fortunately, there’s a solution that not only addresses these concerns but also fosters economic growth: the On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program.

Unlocking Opportunity Through On-the-Job Training

Our federally-funded On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program stands as a beacon of opportunity for both employers and job seekers alike. Designed to bridge the gap between skill requirements and workforce capabilities, this initiative enables businesses to hire and train eligible, skilled workers while enjoying significant financial incentives. For every eligible new hire, employers can receive reimbursement of up to $10,000, making training expenses more manageable.

Participating in the OJT Program is a streamlined process that begins with entering into a training agreement with your local workforce development board. Once secured, employers can work with a member of the PA CareerLink® to recruit candidates for their eligible positions.  When eligible candidates are hired under the OJT Program businesses receive a 50% reimbursement of OJT wages for up to 1,040 hours. It’s a win-win scenario where employers gain skilled employees while reducing training expenses.

Empowering Job Seekers, Fueling Success

The benefits of the OJT Program extend beyond employers, empowering individuals seeking employment opportunities. Enrolled employees have the chance to earn as they learn, with the program offering up to $390 in gas gift cards to offset transportation costs during the training period.

Our On-the-Job Training Program fosters collaboration between businesses and job seekers to unlock untapped potential and drive sustainable growth. By leveraging the resources and incentives offered through this initiative, businesses can build a skilled workforce poised for success, while individuals can access invaluable training opportunities to propel their careers forward.

PA CareerLink® Luzerne and Schuylkill County is proud to be a part of this transformative initiative, and we invite businesses and job seekers alike to join us on this journey toward building our workforces.
