Members of Pocono Heritage Land Trust are invited to enjoy a slow-paced “Walk and Talk” along the gentle, level boardwalk trail at Tannersville Cranberry Bog Preserve.
This incredible ecosystem resulted from a large glacial lake that existed thousands of years ago.
You will explore, observe and enjoy “the gifts of winter sights, sounds and smells” – bee gums and black spruce, bog rosemary and bog laurel, cotton grass and cranberries, leather leaf and Labrador tea, pitcher plants and poison sumac, rose hips and ruffled lichens, spongy sphagnum and swamp rosehips, water willows and witches brooms- to name just a few winter’s “favorite finds”.
Led by founding PHLT board member and local naturalist Don Miller.
Purchase of tickets for this event entitles you to a full year of PHLT membership benefits including free access to hikes, lectures, and workshops. Membership donations are tax-deductible.
