The Steamtown Marathon is a USATF certified marathon that is an official qualifying race for The Boston Marathon. The race features a 955’ drop in elevation from start to finish and includes several miles on mostly paved Rails to Trails along the Lackawanna River.

The Annual Steamtown Marathon treats thousands of runners to the rich history of Northeastern PA from Forest City to Scranton! The Marathon has been recognized by Runner's World as one of the top 10 marathons in the U.S., and since 1996 they have raised over $1.8 million for Saint Joseph's Center in Scranton.
