The Wayne County Arts Alliance Gallery announces a new exhibition with the opening of “ZONES an installation by Samuelle Green on view from September 6th through October 13th, 2024. An Artist’s reception will be held Friday, September 6th from 5:00 pm to 8:00pm.
Samuelle Green, whose artwork has been shown across the U.S. as well as in China, Italy, Estonia, and France, will be featured at the WCAA Gallery, Honesdale, September 6 through October 13.
Green uses painting, drawing, sculpture, and installation to highlight the forms and details present in nature that humanity often overlooks and under appreciates. For the WCAA exhibition, Green departs from previous installations by using identifiable objects and a vibrant color palette. The show, called ZONES, emphasizes the concept of borders, boundaries, barriers and zones, and whether they are enforced for safety and protection or because of the fear of exploring the unknown.
Green, a native of Honesdale and a longtime resident of Brooklyn, NY, studied at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and Parsons School of Design in New York, where she earned a BFA. She has been published in Hyperallergic, Collosal, Design Boom and The Gothamist, and her work has been seen on HBO and AMC+. Green was awarded a grant from The Foundation for Contemporary Art and was the recipient of the 2024 Lammot Belin Award and the 2020-21 Arte Laguna Prize in Venice, Italy.
