There’s nothing like it in NEPA!

Explore the depths of the sea and the forest and jungle floors where reptiles dwell at the brand-new Electric City Aquarium and Reptile Den. Conveniently located within the Marketplace at Steamtown, this 20,000 square foot aquarium connects visitors to wildlife that they may not see every day.

There are sharks and stingrays, giant South American catfish and piranha. You can enter the brilliant, colorful world of a tropical reef teeming with fish both big and small. Get up close and personal with some sea life at the interactive touch tank, where guests are welcomed to reach in and touch starfish, horseshoe crabs and sea urchins. The aquarium staff also conducts educational programs and interactive feedings throughout the day.

When your undersea adventure is complete, continue on to the equally stunning Reptile Den. Here you will be immersed in the habitats of frogs, turtles and snakes. You’ll see lizards and crocodiles and though its not a reptile, you may even see a giant tarantula.

The aquarium also provides a separate room for birthday parties, events and school or camp outings. And with its location in downtown Scranton, it’s convenient to all of NEPA. Stop by the marketplace, grab a bite and shop local at the Scranton Public Market and end the day with a visit to your fishy friends at the aquarium.

The Electric City Aquarium and Reptile Den is one of the region’s only fully immersive wildlife attractions. Every visit inspires young and old minds alike and reveals something new to the naturally curious. Who knows? One visit may result in the world’s next great marine biologist, wildlife photographer or ocean explorer.
