Smoke Stacks, Bricks and Beer

Sip your way through a strong lineup of homegrown brews in a unique and authentically industrial Luzerne County landmark. Back Mountain Brewing Company makes its home in the fabled Twin Stacks Center in Dallas. The 74-year-old, former textile mill turned nano brewery sits just steps from the Memorial Highway.

The brewery and taproom connect to the structure’s blue-collar roots through an inspired, yet classically modern design. Polished hardwood floors crawl across the space, mingling with brick and steel. Dramatic pipework and artfully exposed conduit draw the eye about the cavernous room. A massive front wall of windows floods every corner with natural light.

Back Mountain’s brewer, flush with hands-on experience from some of the most iconic beer cities in the U.S., delivers a sturdy stable of clean, true craft brews. From a Cream Ale to a Kolsch to the popular NEIPA and more, the tap list covers the classic craft spectrum. Notable beers include Ol’ 76 Stout, Whiskey 3 Wit and Little Squatchy IPA.

The tap room features up to 7 brewery-fresh Back Mountain beers, plenty of indoor and outdoor space and delicious, nearby Bernie’s Pizza by the slice. They also offer local wines, Brace’s Hard Cider and a short list of cocktails. Guests at Back Mountain Brewing Company are encouraged to BYOF (Bring Your Own Food) from local restaurants. Or, you can relax and enjoy your beers with some complimentary popcorn.
