Special Olympics Pennsylvania’s Northeast Region partnered with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Pennsylvania State Police 2 years ago for the first-ever Special Olympics Night with the Penguins which consisted of a dunk tank in front of the arena where brave PSP troopers volunteered in the dunk tank for fundraising and our amusement. Special Olympics Pennsylvania athletes were highlighted during the game with a table on the concourse, torch lighting, messaging on the ribbon board, a 30-second video and an ice walk-on during 2nd intermission to teach the fans about their journeys with Special Olympics.
This January they are stepping things up a notch by adding a mobile plunge unit (Google Plungester if you want a better idea of what this means) in front of the arena for you to plunge in. There are 3 levels on their registration page: https://give.specialolympicspa.org/event/2025-northeast-happy-hour-plunge/e617344 with top tier being $200 per person and includes plunging, a plunge day sweatshirt, a seat in the ice level lounge which includes all you can eat chicken tenders and hot dogs as well as non-alcoholic beverages. Not to fear though! It’s also $2 beer night and the bar is right around the corner! Also in this package is a a 1 in 5 chance of winning a seat on the FAN-boni as well as an on ice photo after the game.
For $150 a person, experience the plunge and sweatshirt as well as the game in a nice, center-ice padded seat complete with cup holders. If you just want to plunge and get the sweatshirt as proof, they got you covered. For $75, come and do just that. For an additional $27 you can stay and enjoy the game in whatever seats are available by going to: https://fevo-enterprise.com/event/SOPA2025 And good news– you can also just buy tickets for the game without plunging by using the FEVO website which is cheaper than tickets through the box office and Special Olympics Pennsylvania- Northeast Region gets $5 proceeds from each ticket bought through that link.
They have business sponsorship packages too. This would be a great team building or networking event for your staff and/or clients. A $5,000 sponsorship, for instance, gets you 25 people to enjoy everything in the top tier including ice level lounge and the buffet which provides a lot of time for laid-back networking. An added bonus is that it counts as a plunge sponsorship which gets you a place on the back of the sweatshirts and signage at out big plunge at Montage Mountain on 1/25.
