Mission Statement

The mission of Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association is to conserve birds of prey worldwide by providing leadership in raptor conservation science and education, and by maintaining Hawk Mountain Sanctuary as a model observation, research and education facility.

Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in Kempton is the world’s first refuge for birds of prey and one of the best locations to view to fall hawk migration in North America. The Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association acts as a voice for raptor conservation and maintains the 2,600-acre wildlife sanctuary. Thanks to the group’s hard work, the public can visit, explore the hiking trails and watch the birds soar through the sky.

Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association is also dedicated to science and education. They operate a premier research facility that attracts scientists and students from around the globe. They also host educational programs about wildlife, ecology and art for children and adults.

Hawk Mountain keeps their mission alive through trail fees, membership fees and donations. They also offer plenty of volunteer opportunities.
