People in northeastern Pennsylvania have the unique opportunity to celebrate this holiday season at the most unusual and festive pop-up bar to ever hit the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area: “Misfits.”

The “Misfits” pop-up bar is a first-of-its-kind venue and was created by the hospitality students at Lackawanna College, in partnership with the Marywood University’s School of Architecture. This 100% student-run pop-up bar draws inspiration from classic holiday stories and themes of celebrating uniqueness and embracing being different. Lackawanna College students play the roles of the misfits, as they celebrate the holidays in new ways.

“Misfits” is at 409 Adams in Scranton on the campus of Lackawanna College. It opens to the public on Thursday, November 14th, and will remain open Wednesday through Saturday evenings, 5 pm-midnight through December 21st.

Patrons are invited to visit the magic of Misfits, an old boarding house in the heart of Scranton. Inside they’ll find its rooms are full of neon lights, disco balls and a group of misfits who celebrate the holidays in a whole new way. “Come and find your tribe.”

Patrons who visit “Misfits” can dine under disco balls, indulge in libations in the lounge, and make merry by the firepit.

“Misfits” at Lackawanna College is an eclectic, fun, diverse, and inclusive way to celebrate the holiday season this year in Scranton.
