Cool pools and lush greens

There’s no shortage of greenery in the 390-acre oak-heath forest at The Nature Conservancy’s Harry and Mary Goeringer Preserve in White Haven. This hiking and biking trail is 2.5 miles long and mostly flat. Follow it through the lands, and it will take you to the star of the preserve: an isolated lake surrounded by wild cranberries.

Bird watching has never been easier than in these protected lands. Keep your eyes peeled for a sight of a Scarlet Tanager, Hermit Thrush, or Rose-breasted Grosbeak. It is also an ideal place to try your hand at some outdoor photography. There’s no better way to keep track of the birds you spot than with a photo. This gentle trail is perfect for taking it easy and appreciating the natural beauty surrounding you.

Once the paved road ends, follow Hollenback Road for 0.5 miles. You can park in a small pull-off area on the left.
