And at the heart of this region lies eight state parks within Carbon, Monroe, Pike and Wayne counties, each providing unique experiences for nature lovers, adventurers, and families alike. Whether you’re looking to hike through lush forests, kayak on serene lakes, or simply soak in the beauty of your surroundings, the state parks in the Pocono Mountains offer everything from peaceful nature walks to thrilling outdoor adventures.
Beltzville State Park, encompassing over 3,000 acres of Carbon County’s beautiful forest and hills, is known for its 949-acre Beltzville Lake, with almost 20 miles of shoreline and provides excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, and swimming. The park features a sandy beach, picnic areas, and 15 miles of scenic hiking trails that wind through forests and along the lake’s shoreline.
