The Columns Museum in Milford is home to the Pike County Historical Society and one of the most unique museum experiences in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Housed in a striking 22-room neoclassical mansion built in 1904 for businessman Dennis McLaughlin, the museum itself is an artifact of history. Among the museum’s most prized holdings is the Lincoln Flag, the 36-star flag used to cradle President Abraham Lincoln’s head after he was shot at Ford’s Theatre in 1865. Other highlights include exhibits on the Lenape Indians, a vast collection of war memorabilia, and the Davis-Bailey Family Exhibit, which chronicles the story of four generations of an African American family in Milford.
