Local Artists Bring Color & Creativity to the Community
As a way to welcome visitors and locals into the community, the Wayne County Arts Alliance presents their Summer Arts Project titled “HeARTS ALIVE.” This year, the public can enjoy 50 heart sculptures scattered throughout the county. Each sculpture was painted by local middle and high school students as well as some professional artists.
Travel around the county, and you’ll notice many ties to the area on display, from area wildlife to local landmarks. On our travels, we even found a tribute to the Beatles at Mick’s Barber Shop and a rodeo-themed heart at The Twisted Rail.
We couldn’t pass up the adventure, so we packed up the camera and went on a scavenger hunt. Locations for each heart can be found using the map. Check out some of these outstanding pieces of art!
