The Keystone Mission – Innovation Center for Homeless & Poverty in Wilkes-Barre is a nonprofit, faith-based organization committed to serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness, hunger & hardship. Open 365 days a year, the center provides year-round shelter for up to 50 guests per night, including men, women and children, with private rooms available for families. Located on East Union Street, the Innovation Center offers not just a safe place to sleep—but a path toward restoration and long-term stability.
Daily Essentials & Holistic Support
Beyond emergency shelter, the center offers vital daily services to help guests regain dignity and stability. These include continental breakfast, weekend meal distributions, laundry access, emergency food and clothing, assistance with obtaining government ID, and structured program classes. Each element is designed to support the whole person—addressing both immediate needs and the underlying challenges of homelessness.
Part of a Regional Network of Care
The Wilkes-Barre Innovation Center is one of three Keystone Mission locations, alongside the Scranton Innovation Center for Homeless & Poverty and the residential Transformation Center in Wilkes-Barre. Since 2005, Keystone Mission has followed a Christ-centered model rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and guided by five core pillars of transformation. The organization provides opportunities for individuals to move forward, find purpose and become productive, contributing members of society.
